About This Role
RGP is seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Manager Consultant to play a key part in a long-term engagement supporting multi-state indirect tax compliance and an upcoming tax engine implementation. This consultant will work closely with internal tax, finance, and technology teams to analyze large volumes of data, support third-party compliance providers, and ensure accurate and timely indirect tax filings. The role is hands-on in nature and requires a strong understanding of indirect tax regulations, data analysis, and review-level oversight in a complex, high-volume environment.

This is a hybrid role requiring four days onsite at the client’s location in South Atlanta. 
What You Will Work On
  • Support and review multi-state indirect tax compliance, including sales, use, property, and excise taxes
  • Prepare, analyze, and reconcile large volumes of transactional tax data across multiple systems and Excel
  • Compile and analyze data to provide to third-party compliance providers for return preparation
  • Perform manager-level review of indirect tax filings and supporting workpapers prior to submission
  • Research tax scenarios and provide recommendations related to NEXUS considerations
  • Assist with VDA requests, audit responses, and related documentation
  • Participate in and support an upcoming Vertex tax engine implementation, including data validation and testing
  • Collaborate closely with internal tax, finance, and IT stakeholders in an onsite environment

What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation preferred
  • Strong experience in indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions (sales, use, property, excise)
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, manipulate, and report on large data sets using Excel and various source systems
  • Experience reviewing indirect tax compliance at a manager or senior consultant level
  • Hands-on experience researching tax issues and advising on NEXUS matters
  • Prior involvement in VDA processes and audit support
  • Experience with tax software like Vertex and Avalara
  • Comfortable working 4 days onsite in a collaborative, fast-moving environment

  • Compensation commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market, and operational factors.
    • Pay Range: $65-80 per hour W2 non-exempt
