About This Role
RGP is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting & SEC Reporting Consultant to step in and lead a client’s financial reporting, accounting policy, and SEC compliance functions. In this role, you will oversee quarterly and annual reporting, manage the external audit process, enhance internal controls, and support the adoption of new accounting standards. You will partner closely with accounting and finance leadership to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely reporting across a complex financial services environment. This role requires strong SEC expertise, technical accounting depth, and experience within private equity, asset management, or related financial services sectors.
What You Will Work On
  • Lead preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, including drafting and reviewing footnotes and disclosures.
  • Support SEC reporting deliverables, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and Earnings Releases.
  • Document and enhance internal controls over financial reporting processes.
  • Manage the external audit process, ensuring timely issuance of audit reports and proactive resolution of issues.
  • Research new accounting standards and assess impacts to the client's reporting environment.
  • Develop and update accounting policies in response to organizational changes, standards updates, and complex transactions.
  • Prepare technical accounting memos to support audit review and internal governance.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate current- vs. future-state processes and support the design of improved reporting workflows.
  • Support day-to-day accounting operations and provide guidance on accounting implications of business activity.
  • Use Workiva to streamline reporting, document control frameworks, and manage data inputs.
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Big Four public accounting.
  • Experience within private equity, asset management, or financial services required.
  • Deep expertise in SEC reporting, including preparation and review of 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and footnotes.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge of US GAAP and FASB guidance.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft accounting policies and prepare technical accounting memos.
  • Proven experience managing financial audits and collaborating with external auditors.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data with a high level of accuracy.
  • Hands-on experience documenting and improving internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with Workiva required.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work hybrid in Miami (up to 4 days onsite).

    • Pay Range: $70-$85 per hour W2 non-exempt
