About This Role
We are seeking an experienced Statutory Accounting Consultant with a strong background in regulatory reporting and statutory accounting principles, particularly within the insurance industry. The consultant will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and ensuring the accuracy of statutory financial statements and reports, in compliance with regulatory requirements. Experience with Gain Compliance Software is required, as the consultant will be using this platform to streamline the submission and reporting process.
What You Will Work On
  • Prepare and review statutory financial statements in accordance with regulatory requirements and statutory accounting principles (SAP).
  • Ensure all statutory filings, including quarterly and annual statements, are accurate and submitted on time to regulatory bodies.
  • Leverage Gain Compliance Software to manage and automate statutory reporting, ensuring efficient and accurate data submission.
  • Collaborate with internal finance and accounting teams to gather and verify data required for statutory reporting.
  • Analyze and interpret complex financial data to ensure compliance with insurance regulatory standards.
  • Monitor changes in regulatory and accounting standards, advising on the impact of those changes to the company’s reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with NAIC (National Association of Insurance Commissioners) regulations and guidelines.
  • Provide detailed documentation and support for all statutory filings, addressing any inquiries or requests from regulatory bodies.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify trends or discrepancies in financial reports and provide recommendations for corrections.
  • Work closely with system integrators and internal teams for ongoing Oracle implementation.
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in statutory accounting within the insurance industry.
  • Must have experience with Gain Compliance Software for statutory reporting and submission.
  • Strong understanding of SAP (Statutory Accounting Principles) and NAIC regulations.
  • Proven experience in preparing and reviewing quarterly and annual statutory financial statements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for financial analysis and reporting.

  • Compensation commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market, and operational factors.  
  • Pay Range: $80-85 per hour
