About This Role
As an Insurance Accounting and Financial Reporting Consultant you will play an instrumental role in assisting RGP Clients in a variety of challenging projects. You will bring significant Accounting & Finance experience within Large Insurance Company Property & Casualty Insurance AND/OR Life & Annuities Insurance OR Reinsurance.

You will possess strong Financial System Skills: Excel / Data Skills, GL Systems and large ERPs and/or Financial Reporting systems.

You will have significant experience in one or more of the following functions: 
  • GAAP Accounting Close Process, Journal Entries, Accruals, Reconciliation, Variance Analysis, Actuarial and Reserve Balance postings.
  • Statutory Accounting and Statutory Reporting: Yellow Book, Blue Book, NAIC Reporting
  • Financial Reporting: Corporate Accounting & Consolidations, Legal Entity Consolidation, Intercompany Elimination entries, SEC / 10K / 10Q Reporting & Filings, Financial Statement Preparation and Variance Analysis, Financial Statement MD&A, Footnotes Preparation
  • Reinsurance Accounting Close & Analysis: Reinsurance Calculations and Analysis (Assumed / Ceded Treaties) incl. Loss Reserve Analysis.
  • Process Improvements, Automation of manual journal entries, close calendar maintenance. 
What You Will Work On
Responsibilities will include one or more of the following:  

GAAP Accounting for Insurance, Statutory Accounting, Insurance Premium and Agency Commissions Accounting, Yellow Book, Blue Book Financial Reporting, Corporate Consolidation, SEC Reporting, Reinsurance Accounting, Analysis including of Loss Reserves, Month-End Close Process Management, Process Improvements, Manual Reporting and Journal Entry Automation, Financial Statement Analysis.
What You Will Bring
  • Strong knowledge and 7+ years of experience within the Property & Casualty, Reinsurance and/or Life, Retirement & Annuities Insurance Industries.
  • Bachelor’s Degree of Accounting, Finance or related field required. Master’s degree or CPA is a big plus.
  • Experience with Statutory Accounting / Statutory Reporting, Financial Reporting, Accounting / Month-End Close, Account analysis and variance analysis, Premium and Reserve Accounting & Analysis, Reinsurance Accounting & Analysis
  • Strong systems and Data skills utilizing Accounting and Reporting systems and Excel.
  • Excellent communication, client service and facilitation skills to build relationships and foster trust at all organizational levels

  • Compensation commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market, and operational factors.
    • Pay Range: Ideal hourly pay rate is $55-80/hour
