About This Role
As a Fixed Asset Accounting Consultant, you will support our client with Asset Recording and Classification, Depreciation and Amortization, Asset Maintenance and Audits, Disposal and Impairment, Financial Reporting and Compliance and Budgeting and Forecasting. You will leverage your Biopharmaceutical industry knowledge to ensure compliance with industry regulations. This project requires 3 days onsite in Raleigh, North Carolina. 
What You Will Work On
  • Register acquisition of new fixed assets into the accounting system and determine appropriate asset classification based on policy and relevant accounting standards. Ensure physical assets are tagged and tracked within an asset management system. 
  • Calculate and schedule depreciation for all fixed assets and ensure accurate reflection of asset value over time in accordance with company policy and accounting standards.
  • Review amortization schedules. 
  • Maintain records for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of assets. 
  • Perform regular physical audits to verify the existence and condition of fixed assets against recorded values.
  • Manage disposals and account for the disposal or sale of assets, calculating any gain or loss on disposal, and updating the fixed assets register.
  • Assess impairment and review asset values for  potential impairments. Adjust the book value as necessary.
  • Generate reports related to fixed assets and ensure compliance with internal controls, policy and external regulatory requirements. 
  • Assist with the planning and budgeting for future asset purchases and replacements.
  • Forecast future depreciation expenses and impact on financial performance.
  • Partner with various departments to ensure that the fixed asset ledger is accurate and that all departmental needs are met.
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or related field required.
  • CPA, preferred.
  • Public accounting, or related consulting experience.
  • Biopharmaceuticals sector experience with an understanding of assets unique to the industry.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, ability to build relationships and foster trust at all organizational levels.
  • Experience working with SAP or large ERP systems.
