About This Role
We are seeking a Technical Accounting professional with deep expertise in Revenue Recognition, ASC 606 to support complex, multi element arrangement (MEA) deals, involving variable consideration for new business/ new products. This role focuses on evaluating complex contract structures, applying judgment around materiality thresholds, writing accounting conclusions and ensuring accurate, compliant, and practical accounting outcomes under ASC 606 / IFRS 15.
 
You will serve as a key advisor on how variable consideration and performance obligations are recognized, measured, and disclosed—while balancing technical precision with materiality and operational scalability.

Rate: $80-90/hr DOE

What You Will Work On
  • Technical Accounting (Core Focus): Apply ASC 606 to evaluate complex deals/ contracts, bundles, and new product offerings; identify performance obligations; assess revenue recognition using ASC 606 5-step framework and write accounting conclusions
  • New Business/ New Product Introduction Support: Partner with GTM, Legal, FP&A, and Engineering; assess accounting for new products; translate conclusions into operational processes and system requirements; support product pipeline execution
  • Close Support: Support month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations; handle non-standard revenue; support M&A integration-related accounting
  • Cross-Functional Execution: Collaborate across teams to gather inputs and drive decisions; operate in ambiguity; proactively identify gaps and ask the right questions
  • Program / Project Management: Support prioritization and tracking of product initiatives; coordinate stakeholders and ensure execution progress
  • Documentation: Create desktop procedures and process documentation; clearly document steps and decisions in a structured manner
  • Automation & Process Improvements 

What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent strongly preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in technical accounting, revenue accounting with a focus on ASC 606 revenue recognition.
  • Experience supporting new business or new products introduction
  • Deep knowledge of ASC 606 and/or IFRS 15, including variable consideration and performance obligations.
  • Strong understanding of materiality concepts (SAB 99, audit frameworks, and practical application).
  • Experience applying judgment in complex, multi-element arrangements.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain materiality-based decisions.
