About This Role
Our San Francisco-based fast-growing artificial intelligence client is seeking an Interim Revenue Accounting Manager who can operate independently, ramp quickly, and support a fast‑scaling consumer revenue business. This is a hands‑on, operational role focused on month‑end close, data investigation, process execution, and light automation as the team continues to scale. The ideal candidate excels in a fast‑paced environment, is comfortable working with large datasets, has experience in SQL, and can troubleshoot issues with minimal oversight.  

Requires 3 days hybrid onsite in San Francisco, with more flexibility after initial project ramp-up.  Project duration is 6 months with likelihood of extension.

Pay range:  $75-$85/hr., dependent on experience

What You Will Work On

Month‑End Close & Operational Support

  • Own and support close activities including:
    • Preparing and reviewing journal entries
    • Performing reconciliations
    • Delivering flux commentary
  • Work efficiently in a high‑volume, rapidly growing revenue environment.

Data Analysis & SQL Investigation

  • Use SQL to pull data, review anomalies, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Join tables, understand data structures, and trace issues back to source systems when data breaks.
  • Modify or write new SQL queries when existing scripts need updates or fail unexpectedly.

Ad‑Hoc Project Support

  • Step into a variety of operational and analytical tasks as business priorities shift.
  • Contribute to process improvements, automation opportunities, and scaling initiatives across the revenue function.
What You Will Bring
  • Prior Manager-level revenue accounting or general accounting experience; experience with subscription or SaaS-based revenue models preferred.
  • Strong SQL skills (intermediate+), with the ability to write queries, join tables, and troubleshoot data issues independently.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP or Databricks is a plus.
  • Ability to operate autonomously, solve problems quickly, and adapt in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to navigate large datasets.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
