About This Role
As an Accounting Manager, you will bring deep expertise in manufacturing accounting, strong technical accounting skills, and a passion for process improvement. You will play a key role in the month-end close, inventory accounting, operational support, and internal controls, helping us scale our accounting operations for continued growth.
What You Will Work On
  • Perform and/or review account reconciliations in Blackline or similar tools, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Participate in month-end close activities, including journal entry preparation and review with adherence to internal control practices.
  • Own key components of manufacturing accounting, including inventory analysis (Raw Materials, WIP, Finished Goods), inventory variances, PIO, and cycle count reconciliations.
  • Work extensively with Excel to create pivot tables, perform v-lookups, and analyze large sets of data for financial insights.
  • Engage in data loads and reporting using HFM; experience performing HFM data loads is a strong bonus.
  • Assist in maintaining the general ledger, ideally with prior experience in Sage, Great Plains, or JD Edwards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and finance teams to ensure accurate cost accounting and financial reporting.


What You Will Bring
  • 5+ years of recent operational accounting experience, particularly in a manufacturing or product-based environment.
  • Solid understanding of inventory accounting, including RM, WIP, FG, and related variance analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and data analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with HFM; data load experience is a strong plus.
  • Prior use of Blackline (or similar account reconciliation tools) for preparation and/or review of reconciliations.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and financial close processes; prior public company experience is not required but comfort with SOX-like controls is expected.
  • Experience with Sage, Great Plains, or JD Edwards, with preference given to Sage or Great Plains.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a growing, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be onsite in Ann Arbor 1 day/week (Monday) and Thursdays during month/quarter close
