About This Role
Seeking an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to support Finance during operational transition and system stabilization. This role will provide hands-on, detail-oriented support for monthly close activities, inventory accounting, WIP, COGS, and PPV where many cost flows are manual and require direct GL entries to reflect operational activity. Requires 4 days onsite in Torrance, CA. Duration 6-9 months with the potential to convert.
What You Will Work On
  • Execute month-end close activities related to inventory, WIP, COGS, and manufacturing operations.
  • Prepare and document manual journal entries to reflect production, usage, receipts, adjustments, and timing corrections when system data is incomplete.
  • Maintain and reconcile inventory-related accounts, including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  • Rebuild or validate reconciliations where underlying documentation is incomplete or inconsistent.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Engineering/R&D, and Finance to validate data and understand cost drivers.

What You Will Bring
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in cost accounting, manufacturing accounting, or inventory accounting.
  • Experience performing reconciliations, variance analysis, and month-end close work in manual or semi-manual environments.
  • Comfort working with production logs, spreadsheets, ad-hoc data extracts, and non-automated workflows.
  • Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation).
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize under tight timelines, and navigate ambiguous or evolving processes.
  • Experience in manufacturing, construction products, hardware, aerospace, or engineering-driven environments.

  • Compensation commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market, and operational factors.  
  • Pay Range: $55/hr-$70/hr
