About This Role
We are seeking a hands-on Software Architect to design and standardize engineering patterns that our enterprise teams can adopt with consistency and minimal effort. You will define eventing, API, and microservice patterns using Spring Boot, Kafka, and Kubernetes, and partner with architects and engineering squads to operationalize these patterns across the organization.

Pay Rate:  $65-$85/hr. W2
What You Will Work On
  • Build and standardize reusable design patterns and reference implementations for event-driven systems, APIs, and microservices.
  • Engineer frameworks and templates (e.g., Spring Boot, messaging patterns) that teams can quickly adopt.
  • Establish enterprise eventing patterns using Kafka; work with the Architecture Review Board for approval.
  • Write clear Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and define enforceable technical policies.
  • Support API-first designs with modern authorization models (e.g., Okta through the data layer).
  • Define container, Kubernetes, and serverless (Lambda) patterns, including Adobe-driven designs where applicable.
  • Partner with architecture, platform, and deployment teams (3–7 people across groups) as a senior individual contributor.
  • Ensure patterns are operationally sound; observability, reliability, and production readiness
What You Will Bring
  • Extensive experience building distributed systems using Spring Boot, Kafka, and event-driven architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of microservices, containers, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with API-driven architecture and modern authentication/authorization frameworks.
  • Ability to write ADRs and establish engineering standards.
  • Operational mindset with focus on reliability, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills; comfortable influencing across teams without formal authority.
What You Can Expect
  • An inspirational place for you to do your best work, be engaged in meaningful ways, and continually develop the skills, competencies and qualities that set our team apart.
  • Compensation commensurate with your qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market and operational factors.
  • Total Rewards include: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Professional Development Program, Paid Time Off and Paid Sick Time (in geographies where legally required).
