About This Role
RGP is looking for a Technical Accountant for highly complex, customized customer contracts within a fast-growing, technology-driven business. You will be responsible for analyzing complex, multi arrangement deals, determine appropriate accounting treatment ensuring accurate downstream accounting in accordance with ASC 606. You will manage a portfolio of sophisticated, high-value contracts from Tier 1 customers that often include non-standard commercial and accounting terms.  This role is ideal for a technically strong revenue accountant who thrives in ambiguity, exercises sound judgment, and enjoys building clarity and structure in evolving environments. You will play a key role in maintaining accounting rigor while helping refine processes for scale and efficiency.

Pay Rate: $85-95/hr W2 depending on experience
Location: Fully remote (must be willing to work PST hours)

What You Will Work On
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 10–15 complex revenue contracts, collaborating with upstream deal, finance, and operational teams
  • Review customer contracts and translate key terms into appropriate revenue recognition treatments aligned with ASC 606
  • Prepare, review, and adjust journal entries related to complex revenue arrangements
  • Build and maintain detailed revenue waterfall schedules and supporting documentation
  • Perform standalone selling price (SSP/RSP) analysis and manual revenue allocations as required
  • Monitor standard term analyses and support accounting adjustments for non-standard arrangements
  • Execute prewritten SQL queries to extract data needed for revenue analysis, validation, and controls
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of calculations within spreadsheets, identifying and resolving discrepancies
  • Maintain clear, thorough documentation of accounting conclusions and judgments
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of revenue processes as deal complexity and volume evolve

What You Will Bring
  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on application of ASC 606
  • Proven experience reviewing customer contracts and translating commercial terms into revenue accounting treatments
  • Deep understanding of revenue recognition principles and complex deal structures
  • Experience preparing journal entries and revenue waterfall schedules for sophisticated arrangements
  • Demonstrated attention to detail with the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve calculation or data issues
  • Ability to run and interpret prewritten SQL queries for data extraction and validation
  • Comfort working across finance, systems, and operational data sources
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage accounting data from multiple inputs and stakeholders
  • Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills and sound professional judgment
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and connect the dots across incomplete information
  • Experience with intake processes, pricing analysis, and standalone selling price methodologies
  • Adaptability to evolving policies, processes, and project requirements
