About This Role
We are looking for two experienced General Ledger Consultants to support a strategic transition of financial systems operations from a Global Shared Services Center (SSC) to the Mexico local team within a leading banking institution.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring a seamless migration of knowledge, ownership, and execution capabilities related to the Financial Systems Suite used for accounting and reporting.

You will be part of a structured transition model that evolves from guided learning to full ownership. This includes working closely with international teams, particularly from India, and progressively taking control of configuration, maintenance, and support activities for core financial modules.

This position requires a strong combination of functional accounting knowledge, ERP implementation experience, and the ability to operate effectively in complex, multicultural, and high-pressure environments.
What You Will Work On
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end lifecycle of General Ledger systems within an ERP environment, with a strong focus on Record-to-Report processes.

You will:
  • Lead and support GL-related activities across the full lifecycle: analysis, design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
  • Participate in a structured transition process, including:
  • Initial training and shadowing with the SSC team.
  • Gradual execution under supervision.
  • Independent ownership with remote support.
  • Final stabilization and optimization of systems.
  • Configure and maintain financial modules, ensuring alignment with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Execute functional testing and validation, ensuring accuracy and reliability of financial data and reporting outputs.
  • Support production releases, including coordination, validation, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders, including teams in India, to troubleshoot issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure operational continuity, identifying risks and proactively addressing gaps during the transition.
  • Monitor and report project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines and deliverables.
  • Contribute to system stabilization efforts, improving performance, resolving defects, and enhancing usability.
Additionally, you will play a key role in knowledge acquisition and documentation, ensuring that the Mexico team builds long-term autonomy and expertise in managing the financial systems.
What You Will Bring

Core Experience & Technical Skills
  • 5-7 years of hands-on experience implementing and maintaining General Ledger (GL) modules within commercial ERP systems.
  • Proven experience in at least two full Record-to-Report (R2R) implementations, with strong exposure to GL and financial reporting.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, with the ability to translate business requirements into system configurations.
  • Experience across the full project lifecycle: analysis, design, configuration, testing, and implementation.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros) for data analysis and validation.
  • Strong documentation and presentation skills (Word and PowerPoint preferred).
  • Experience implementing or supporting GL systems within banking environments.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards.
  • Exposure to financial system suites and reporting tools
  • Understanding of production release processes and system stabilization practices.
  • Degree in Technology with accounting knowledge, or degree in Accounting with ERP implementation experience.
  • Language
  • Fluent English (spoken and written) is required to collaborate with global teams.
