About This Role
We are seeking an experienced Akumina Developer with a strong background in custom widget development to join our digital workplace team. This role will focus on building, enhancing, and maintaining Akumina-based intranet solutions, with an emphasis on developing highly customized, scalable, and performant widgets that extend platform capabilities and deliver exceptional user experiences.
What You Will Work On
  • Design and develop custom Akumina widgets using modern front-end frameworks and Akumina’s widget framework.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into functional, user-friendly solutions.
  • Extend and customize Akumina components, templates, and services to meet business needs.
  • Integrate Akumina with external systems (e.g., REST APIs, Microsoft 365 services, SharePoint).
  • Optimize widget performance, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues across the Akumina platform.
  • Maintain code quality through best practices, including version control, testing, and documentation.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development standards.
  • Stay current with Akumina platform updates and recommend enhancements.
What You Will Bring
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience working with Akumina or similar digital workplace platforms.
  • Strong experience in custom widget development within Akumina.
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies such as:
    • JavaScript / TypeScript
    • HTML5, CSS3, SCSS
    • Frameworks such as React or Angular
  • Experience with Akumina widget framework, handlebars/templates, and deployment processes.
  • Solid understanding of SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs and third-party services.
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Azure services (Functions, App Services, APIs).
  • Knowledge of SPFx (SharePoint Framework).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Understanding of accessibility (WCAG) and responsive design principles.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
