About This Role
The Accountant will be under the supervision of the Manager, Accounting and will be directly responsible for various GL accounting closing and reporting tasks within the North America accounting team. They will work collaboratively with all levels of the business including NA GL Accounting Team, AP, external auditors, and various other employees throughout the business. This role requires full participation in department initiatives such as ensuring accurate and timely accounting closing, policy compliance, performing key accounting analytics, and providing support to other team members when needed.
What You Will Work On
  • Maintain business assets accounting subledger and associated capitalizable additions and disposals.
  • Generate and distribute lease accounting entries to stakeholders.
  • Set up prepaid accounting and record corresponding amortization.
  • Directly manage and report on all property tax and census-related requirements.
  • Record and maintain various general accruals.
  • Prepare miscellaneous journal entries identified during reconciliations or by other departments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
  • Preparation of related account reconciliations in accordance with Corporate policies.
  • Maintain accounting records in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the development and documentation of various procedures and controls to ensure accurate accounting.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and preparation of required audit support schedules.
  • Assist in documentation and updating narratives relating to SOX controls.
  • Other projects, as assigned.
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • Strong technical proficiency, including advanced-level Excel capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Desire to learn and development accounting-related knowledge and skills.
  • Attributes considered a plus:
    • More than 3 years of professional experience;
    • Experience working in a $500M+ company with multiple locations and able to handle large volumes of work;
    • Familiarity with public company policies, procedures, and internal control activities;
    • Experience working with international companies, including foreign currencies and intercompany transactions.

What You Can Expect
  • Base Pay Range: ​$64,000 - $80,000
  • Other Compensation: Incentive Compensation  
  • All Compensation is commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market and operational factors.
