About This Role
The Accounting Professional will play a critical role in overseeing financial reporting, including the review of monthly results at both the asset and sector levels. They will ensure the team completes month-end activities, such as reviewing third-party reports, and conducting key indicator and variance analyses against budgets. Acting as a primary liaison, they will manage deadlines, communications, and information reviews with third-party managers
What You Will Work On
  • Overseeing the financial reporting, including review of monthly results at the asset and for the sectors.
  • Overseeing the team’s completion of month end activities, including review of third-party reporting and completion of key indicator and variance analysis against budgets.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for our third-party managers, including managing deadlines, regular communications and review of information provided.
  • Review of financial statements ensuring consistent application of accounting standards in accordance with local GAAP or IFRS.
  • Coordination of interim and year-end audits for various entities.
  • Coordination, review and analysis of annual operating plans and quarterly reforecasts with our asset and property managers.
  • Act as a key resource to the business and deliver value to stakeholders, including understanding and explaining key performance metrics.
  • Participation in the overall portfolio cash forecasting and distribution cycle.
  • Assisting with the execution of portfolio strategies, including supporting the investments team on the execution of transactional activity.
  • Onboarding new asset acquisitions and third-party service providers and relevant accounting processes for an active portfolio.

What You Will Bring
  • Minimum 2-3 years work experience in real estate accounting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong financial analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate complex situations and synthesize relevant information. 
  • Experience with Yardi; JD Edwards and HFM experience is a bonus
  • University degree, preferably in Commerce, Business or Accounting or pursuing a Professional Accounting Designation (CPA)
