About This Role
As an Accounting & Finance Consultant, you will play a key role in integrating a recently acquired Japan-based distributor into our client’s systems. This role requires expertise in FP&A and general accounting, along with fluency in Japanese, to collaborate effectively with the Japan team. Your responsibilities will include supporting the month-end close process, financial reporting, audit compliance, governance, and the creation of a brand-specific P&L. Strong Excel skills are a must, as is the flexibility to work some evenings to accommodate the Japan team’s time zone.
What You Will Work On
  • Collaborate extensively with the Japan team to integrate a newly acquired distributor into the client’s systems.
  • Support the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and deliver management reports and financial statements, including brand-specific P&Ls.
  • Lead and/or support process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with governance and audit requirements, addressing key financial and operational controls.
  • Oversee the integration of the distributor into the Oracle system, streamlining financial operations.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze data, develop models, and create actionable insights.
  • Adjust work schedules to accommodate evening meetings with the Japan team, facilitating cross-time-zone collaboration.
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • CPA or CMA preferred
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • 3-plus years of public accounting, related consulting or industry experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Experience with large ERP systems and strong MS Office technical skills, specifically with MS Excel. Oracle experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills, with a strong orientation to client service, time management, and project delivery

  • Compensation commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market, and operational factors.  
  • Pay Range: $50/hr. - 70/hr.
