About This Role

As a Federal Tax Director Consultant, you will assist our client with their U.S. Federal income tax compliance requirements for the tax year. In this role, you will lead and drive the US federal tax return and provision, quarterly forecasting and consolidation and support quarterly and year end reporting responsibilities. The Director will drive necessary change and improvement on a global scale. You will work collaboratively to identify and implement solutions, accelerate change including processes, data, and systems, provide clear guidance, direction, advice, and metrics, and manage risk and controversy. You will utilize your previous corporate income tax experience and/or public accounting experience to help our client ensure project success.



What You Will Work On
  • Manage the preparation of federal income tax returns and the federal tax provision
  • Have oversight of the quarterly tax reporting and consolidation process
  • Provide overall leadership to the federal tax department during compliance season
  • Assist with the tax SOX control process
  • Drive coordination in obtaining financial data from divisional and foreign financial leadership
  • Identify, lead, and drive data and technology improvements, process improvements and best practices
What You Will Bring

Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive and relevant tax experience including preparing and/or reviewing corporate income tax returns.
  • US Federal Income Tax background
  • Able to creatively research, analyze, and conclude specifically assigned US tax issues
  • Able to work closely with groups within a corporate structure including finance, legal, operations, etc.
  • Lead Teams in the preparation of the Federal Tax provision process and tax reporting and consolidation
  • Ability to work onsite in Indianapolis, IN 2 days a week for a 10-month period. Our client is willing to provide travel and stay expenses during those 2 days weekly.

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • Master's in Accounting, Finance or Taxation is preferred
  • CPA preferred, but not required

Systems

  • Significant tax engine experience with OneSource is preferred. SAP S/4 HANA general ledger ERP experience also preferred. Ability to manage large volumes of data. Strong Excel skills.
