About This Role
We're looking for a Lease Accounting Manager, who will work closely with FP&A and business managers to monitor project cost performance. The Lease Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial management of an organization's capital assets. 
What You Will Work On
  • Develop and uphold the Company's global capital assets and lease accounting policies to ensure accurate recording and valuation of capital assets.
  • Lead the global lease accounting policies and processes, including the creation and management of centralized or shared services for key aspects of lease accounting and reporting.
  • Deliver periodic management reporting and analysis on global fixed and leased assets, coordinating and compiling information and analysis from all global locations.
  • Oversee all aspects of asset accounting and reporting from initial approval to disposal for all North America entities.
  • Support project managers by analyzing project plans for capitalization determination, monitoring, and reporting capitalized costs throughout the project's lifecycle. This includes software (internally developed or acquired) and retail store builds and remodels. Collaborate closely with FP&A and business managers to monitor project cost performance.
  • Monitor, assess, and record asset impairment of capital assets, including retail stores. Work with Finance and Accounting leadership to ensure proper accounting and disclosure of impairment events.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Accounts Payable to develop and maintain end-to-end processes for the approval and coding of fixed asset purchases and payments.
  • Execute and review month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and account analyses. Prepare deliverables to support the financial reporting team for internal and external purposes (SEC financial statements, footnotes, board of director reporting, etc.).
  • Interface with compliance and internal/external auditors for Sarbanes-Oxley and audit-related matters, providing necessary supporting documentation.
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including 1-3 years supervising staff accountants. Preferred experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, and within large multinational, publicly held companies.
  • Strong expertise in US GAAP and technical accounting knowledge, with a focus on fixed assets, projects, leases, and retail industry experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP, MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint), and reporting and analytical tools (TM1). Experience with lease accounting software is a plus.
  • Experience in regional environments with multiple countries and local requirements.
  • Proven ability to identify and apply complex accounting treatments to business contracts.
