About This Role
RGP is searching for Senior Management Consultants to help our clients through financial transformation initiatives. We are looking for people with financial services/ banking industry experience ideally, but more important is advisory experience acting as a consultant to stakeholders. The variety of skillsets needed would be:

The objective of the role is to support a transformation program for a large-scale financial institution, with at least 7 years of experience. The program scope includes the full modernization of core Record to Report processes (accounting, closing, statutory and corporate reporting, tax, reconciliations), ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and alignment with corporate strategy.
What You Will Work On
We are looking for people to undertake strategic assessments of our clients' business operations and provide recommendations for optimization. This could include functional finance areas, technology and automation opportunities, data visualization and reporting, target operating models, roadmaps, and gap analysis. 
What You Will Bring
Key Capabilities
  1. Ability to align finance transformation initiatives with the overall business strategy.
  2. Experience leading complex transformation programs in regulated environments. Able to inspire, influence, and engage stakeholders at all levels, from C-Level to operational teams.
  3. Familiar in managing organizational change and ensuring stakeholder buy-in.
  4. Capability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with finance transformation projects.
  5. Strong analytical skills to assess financial data and project performance metrics
  6. Finance Operations: Strong understanding of critical financial processes (Record to Report, tax, reconciliations, financial and statutory reporting), including redesign and automation initiatives.

Hard Skills

  1. Proficiency in methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
  2. Familiarity with finance and accounting software (e.g., ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or financial modeling tools).
  3. Knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
  4. Understanding relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements in México.
  5. Skills in methodologies like Lean Six Sigma to drive efficiency in finance processes.
Relevant Work Experience
  1. Finance Transformation Leadership: Led, managed or participate at least two full-cycle finance transformation programs, including accounting, financial reporting, or tax operations.
  2. Project Management: Several years of experience managing projects, particularly in finance or related fields, is essential. This includes leading cross-functional teams and delivering projects on time and within budget.
  3. Finance and Accounting Background: Experience in finance, accounting, or financial analysis helps in understanding the technical aspects of finance transformation. This could include roles in financial planning and analysis, accounting, or treasury.
  4. Change Management: Experience in leading change initiatives within an organization, especially in finance-related transformations, is valuable. This includes managing stakeholder engagement and communication.
  5. Technology Implementation: Experience with implementing financial systems, ERP solutions, or financial technology (FinTech) applications. Familiarity with tools and platforms that support finance transformation is a plus.
  6. Process Improvement: Experience in process optimization or re-engineering within finance functions. This could involve using methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma to enhance efficiency.

Industry Knowledge
  1. Sector-Specific Experience: Understanding the specific finance challenges and regulations of the Mexican BANKING industry in which the organization operates.
  2. Regulatory Compliance: Experience with financial regulations and compliance standards relevant to the industry, Mexican standards, and IFRS is important for ensuring that transformation initiatives align with legal requirements.

Leadership and Team Experience
  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with various departments (e.g., IT, operations, sales) to ensure alignment and support for finance transformation initiatives.
  2. Mentoring and Coaching: Experience in mentoring junior team members or leading training sessions can enhance team performance and foster a collaborative environment.

Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or related field (required)
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Project Management (preferred)
Relevant certifications:
  • CPA, CFA, or IFRS Certification (Equivalent or experience with)
  • PMP®, PRINCE2® or equivalent
  • Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt (desirable)
  • Certifications in RPA, Data Analytics, or Emerging Finance Technologies (desirable)

Additional skills needed:
  • Executive presence and communication skills
  • Data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • The ability to observe tactical operations and formulate strategic assessments with an executive summary
  • Bi-lingual in English/Spanish
