About This Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Risk and Compliance Advisor to join a newly established Risk and Compliance function. Reporting directly to the Head of Risk and Compliance, this role is instrumental in operationalizing a new compliance framework, with a specific focus on aligning with Canadian Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and privacy regulations, including Quebec’s Law 25.
What You Will Work On
  • Assess current and emerging compliance risks across Canadian business operations.
  • Develop and document policies and procedures that support the compliance framework—leveraging existing international materials where possible, while adapting them to Canadian regulatory standards.
  • Identify and map applicable Canadian regulations to business operations; create new policy documentation where regulatory gaps exist.
  • Ensure company-wide compliance with new AML obligations and Quebec’s privacy legislation, Law 25.
  • Design and deliver training programs for internal stakeholders to promote awareness of compliance obligations, including AML and privacy regulations.
  • Operate effectively in an evolving and ambiguous environment, taking initiative to resolve challenges with limited guidance.
What You Will Bring
  • Senior-level experience in compliance or risk management within a regulated industry, preferably with exposure to AML and Canadian privacy laws.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian regulatory frameworks, including FINTRAC guidelines and provincial privacy legislation.
  • Proven ability to develop policies and procedures and translate regulatory requirements into practical processes.
  • Experience delivering training and influencing at all levels of an organization.
  • Self-starter mindset, comfortable building structure in greenfield or early-stage programs.
