About This Role

As a Revenue Accounting Consultant, you will support the revenue team at a global technology client. This role is critical in ensuring timely and accurate recordings and recognition of revenue in accordance with ASC 606, lead month-end close activities, assist in automation, process improvements and system enhancements and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.  The ideal candidate will be well-versed in ASC 606, has strong analytical skills, experience in recurring revenue models, able to navigate ambiguity, and has excellent communication skills to effectively facilitate information flow between cross-functional business partners and the Finance organization. 


What You Will Work On
  • Review and interpret customer contracts, assess and summarize revenue implications, and document conclusions on revenue recognition treatment in accordance with current US GAAP and ASC 606
  • Lead month-end close and quarterly revenue process, including maintaining the general ledger and sub ledgers, prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and analyze account variances
  • Determine monthly revenue forecast and perform monthly revenue analysis and calculation. Generate monthly revenue and expenditure reports to management.
  • Review revenue recognition schedules for accuracy, integrity, and compliance with appropriate accounting standards. Ensure implementation of the company’s revenue recognition policy are in place.
  • Maintain and analyze deferred revenue and unbilled accounts.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales Ops, Legal, Deal Desk, and FP&A to review deals and drive compliant revenue treatment.
  • Support the design and implementation of scalable revenue systems and processes (e.g., automation, reporting enhancements).
  • Work closely with external auditors to provide support for revenue-related audit requests and documentation.
  • Contribute to key projects including new system implementations, revenue forecasting, and internal controls (SOX readiness or compliance).

What You Will Bring
  • 10+ years of revenue accounting and revenue recognition experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Related Field
  • Global Technology or SaaS industry experience a must!
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and ASC 606
  • Proficiency in ERP (Oracle, SAP) and revenue recognition tools (e.g., NetSuite, Zuora, Salesforce CPQ, RevPro).
  • SQL experience an advantage. G Suite, MS Suite and other collaboration tools experience
  • Highly analytical, strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • CPA strongly preferred but not required.
