About This Role
We’re seeking an experienced Data Strategist to lead the development of an enterprise-wide data governance and management framework. This strategic, hands-on role focuses on ensuring data consistency, compliance, and integrity across financial and operational domains, with a strong emphasis on Insurance-related areas such as Finance, Actuarial, and Reinsurance. You’ll shape data strategy, collaborate cross-functionally, and establish governance standards that support regulatory, reporting, and operational needs—ideal for someone with deep Insurance expertise who thrives in fast-paced environments. This is a full-time, remote engagement with a targeted start at the end of July, initially scoped for three months with potential for extension. 
What You Will Work On
  • Design and implement a comprehensive data management strategy that includes automated data validation, quality control, and master data lineage.
  • Define and establish enterprise data governance standards, policies, and escalation protocols.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Actuarial, and Middle Office teams to gather requirements and promote best practices in data stewardship and usage.
  • Build and maintain a centralized enterprise data dictionary and shape metadata governance practices.
  • Ensure the consistency, integrity, and regulatory compliance of data across reporting and operational use cases.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor within the Finance function, helping to prioritize data governance efforts that support business objectives.
What You Will Bring
  • Proven experience leading data governance and management initiatives in complex financial services or insurance environments.
  • Strong knowledge of reinsurance, finance, and actuarial data domains; underwriting experience is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of financial and operational data flows and how they relate to reporting, regulatory compliance, and business decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence both technical and business audiences.
  • A track record of working independently in fast-paced, cross-functional environments and delivering results.
  • Strategic thinking combined with hands-on implementation skills to build sustainable data governance solutions.
What You Can Expect

  • Compensation commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market, and operational factors.  
  • Pay Range: $90-120 USD/hr (DOE)
