We are hiring Controller level candidates to support our clients in our Northern California market across different initiatives including: the adoption of the new revenue recognition accounting standard (ASC 606), financial carve-outs, external reporting, SOX compliance/internal controls, and technical and operational accounting.
Your responsibilities would vary from client to client but may include the following:
Direct overall accounting operations ensuring compliance to US GAAP, and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
Review revenue recognition processes and accounting policies. Participate in contracts/deals review including complex revenue arrangements. Assess recommendations for their accounting treatment.
Support the implementation of the new revenue recognition standard ASC 606.
Provide technical accounting guidance and support to clients through complex transactions including IPOs, mergers and acquisition, divestures, etc.
Oversee SEC reporting, including 10K, 10Q, and other filings, and global accounting activities such as consolidations.
Lead financial and management reporting. Act as the primary contact to external auditors and provide year-end financial statements to external auditors.
Provided guidance for ERP implementations/upgrades from time to time.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA with Big 4 background preferred.
10+ years of experience in public accounting; additional experience working in a large multinational, publicly-held company is desirable.
In-depth technical accounting knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting, and revenue recognition guidance.
Exposure to ERP accounting and finance systems such as SAP/Oracle with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Excellent written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.
Results oriented with strong orientation to client servicing, time management, and project delivery.
