About This Role
We are seeking a Data Governance Consultant to join our team, playing a pivotal role in shaping the foundational principles for governing and managing data across the organization. This consultant will be instrumental in developing and implementing data governance and management policies and practices, with a particular focus on data privacy and compliance with BCBS-239 requirements. The initiatives undertaken by this team are of high priority and visibility, offering consultants the opportunity to provide insights to senior leadership on large-scale Enterprise programs.

What You Will Work On
  • Develop and implement data governance and management policies and practices, including policies related to data governance, deletion, and retention.
  • Support the documentation of policies, including the development of Enterprise policy requirements and policy writing.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on strategic approaches to data governance, aligning with the objectives of senior leadership.
  • Engage with a wide range of stakeholders across the Enterprise to ensure alignment and collaboration in the governance processes.
  • Potentially responsible for status reporting and project tracking, though not reporting on compliance or policy implementation.
  • Utilize strong communication skills to engage with data consumers and leadership stakeholders effectively.
What You Will Bring
  • Prior experience developing and implementing data governance and management policies and practices.
  • Experience in developing and implementing Data Governance at an Enterprise or local level within a financial services company.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with implementing requirements of BCBS-239 and Privacy regulations.
  • Familiarity with broader frameworks such as the three lines of defense (3 LOD) framework and DAMA-DMBOK: Data Management Body of Knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Data Governance tools such as Collibra and broader Global Risk & Compliance tools such as Archer is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with data consumers and leadership stakeholders.
