About This Role
The Manager, Accounting - GL Manager will be directly responsible for various accounting closing and reporting tasks. They will work collaboratively with all levels of the business including senior management, AP, expenses, payroll, sales, as well as external auditors and bank partners. Under the supervision of Director, Accounting North America, the GL Accounting Manager requires full participation in department initiatives such as ensuring accurate and timely accounting closing, direct review of various accounting activities, performing key accounting analytics, and management of the North America GL Accounting Team.
What You Will Work On
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close activities
  • Maintain accounting records in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Participate in the development and documentation of various procedures and controls to ensure accurate accounting
  • Able to resolve semi-complex accounting issues in compliance with US GAAP and dialogue with supervisor to determine the best approach for repeatable processing
  • Assist with analyzing financial statements on a quarterly basis and report on variances
  • Directly supervise staff/senior accountants, including administrative actions such as check-ins, semi-annual reviews, and training/development
  • Initial reviewer of all accounting results and month-end close procedures of direct reports
  • Participate in internal and external audits and preparation of required audit support schedules.
  • Assist in documentation and updating narratives relates to SOX controls
  • Support Director of Accounting North America with large initiatives
  • Produce ad hoc reports and analysis for management
  • Recognize the need for process change, make recommendations, and follow-through with successful implementation and monitoring
  • Must be able to exercise discretion and independent judgment when performing the job responsibilities
  • Other projects, as assigned
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
  • CPA is required (active or inactive)
  • 5+ years of experience; a couple of years in Public Accounting combined with a couple of years in industry is preferred
  • Experience working in a $500M+ company with multiple locations and able to handle large volumes of work
  • Familiarity with public company policies, procedures, and internal control activities
  • Strong knowledge of month end closing processes and ability to work dynamically with a variety of internal and external business partners and be able to communicate financial concepts to non-finance people
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • Power user in MS Excel. Must be comfortable with the creation of spreadsheets from scratch inclusive of writing formulas and creating or using pivot tables
  • Demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Experience working with international companies, including foreign currencies and intercompany transactions is a plus
What You Can Expect
  • All Compensation is commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors, including geographic location, market, and operational factors.
  • Base Pay Range: 106,200 – 132,800
  • Other Compensation: Incentive Compensation
