About This Role
We are seeking a Global Payroll Leader to provide strategic direction and leadership of RGP’s global payroll function, including payroll processing, payroll tax submissions, compliance, and vendor management for approximately 3,500 employees in 20 countries across the globe (North America, Europe, and Asia). The selected candidate will run day-to-day payroll operations, support new and existing pay programs (local and global), manage vendor contracts and relationships, and drive process standardization, automation, and improvement in the controls for payroll globally while ensuring process efficiency and effectiveness. 

Successful candidates will have 10+ years of experience in global payroll and must show demonstrated previous success in transforming a previously manual payroll function to one that is highly scalable and efficient. This hire may sit anywhere in North America but must be able to work across various global time zones. 
What You Will Work On
  • Develops, implements, and executes a holistic payroll strategy and operating model while providing tactical direction to the regional payroll leaders across the globe.
  • Oversees the team in global expansion initiatives including exploring and managing the implementation of 3rd party vendors to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance in multiple countries.
  • Drives appropriate consistent processes across the globe and coordinates regional efforts towards global process standardization while allowing flexibility locally when required.
  • Maximizes the effectiveness of technologies and supporting processes to drive continuous improvement and change initiatives.
  • Fosters relationships with senior internal stakeholders by establishing and maintaining exceptional business relationships and working collaboratively with other corporate and country level teams including HR, Legal, Accounting & Finance, Tax, Treasury, and IT.
  • Owns oversight of Global Payroll to ensure compliance with all corporate and country-specific policies and procedures.
  • Drives controls and operational excellence including, but not limited to, SOX oversight and controls and compliance programs.
  • Ensures process design supports fiscal and regulatory compliance.
  • Coaches, mentors, and provides leadership development to team members to optimize operational excellence and create a deeper bench of experienced payroll talent.
  • Builds partnerships and solicits feedback from internal and external business partners to define and develop successful, scalable processes and practices.
  • Manages the global and/or regional payroll vendor relationships, including selection, negotiation, consolidation, and management.
  • Provides audit and oversight of the team's activities and processes, ensuring that pertinent internal and external compliance and government interaction standards are met.
  • Implements and leverages technology that best fits programs and needs.
What You Will Bring
  • 10+ years of experience with global payroll, payroll tax, and operating in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation strongly preferred.
  • Must show demonstrated previous success in transforming a payroll function that is manual to one that is highly scalable and efficient.
  • Experience setting up payroll requirements for new tax entities is required.
  • Must have deep knowledge and experience working with payroll vendors and platform technologies; ADP for international payroll and Workday Payroll knowledge and/or experience preferred but not required.
  • Leadership experience of mid-to-large, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Experience managing several large payroll vendors and contracts.
  • Knowledge of and experience with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, equity, and time tracking programs.
  • Understanding of and experience with end-to-end M&A activities.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence others.
  • Natural problem solver who produces creative solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively across all levels and layers of the organization.
What You Can Expect
  • Base Pay Range: ​$133,000-$232,000
  • Other Compensation: Incentive Compensation  
  • All Compensation is commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors including geographic location, market and operational factors.
