About This Role
Under the leadership of the Vice President, Global Accounting, the Director, Accounting North America will deliver an effective, efficient, and insightful accounting function while establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures. 
What You Will Work On
  • Direct supervision of the North America Accounting team (including Mexico and Canada) and Accounts Payable department, with possible growth into management of other transactional departments
  • Supervise and facilitate timely and accurate month-end close for all North American entities
  • Monitor and enhance policies and procedures to provide reasonable assurance that the financial statements are free from material misstatements and company assets are protected while supporting business growth and evolution
  • Ensure that financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies, US GAAP, and SEC requirements
  • Review monthly account reconciliations and fluctuation analyses and communicate a summary of financial results and analysis/insight on a timely basis to upper management and manages any follow-up required as part of the feedback process
  • Identify any outliers or unusual results and leads the investigation/resolution of issues in either internal controls or company policies/procedures
  • Maintain high-quality accounting and internal controls through both manual and systematic processes
  • Supervise the acquisition of subsidiaries, including the adoption of new policies, technology, and financial reporting requirements
  • Oversee the preparation of Mexico statutory financials, ensuring that they are in compliance with statutory requirements, filed timely, and reconciled to the US GAAP financials and other STAT reporting resources
  • Work closely with Tax Department to ensure in-country compliance
  • Own and maintain financial systems (General Ledger/Procure to Pay/Consolidations)
  • Adopt new technology and tools to improve efficiencies while enhancing controls
  • Manage the development and training of direct and indirect reports; including recruiting, hiring, coaching, training, mentoring, and giving proper, relevant, and timely performance feedback
  • Set personal, professional, and team goals and measure progress in achieving those goals
  • Gain understanding of business drivers, company initiatives, and ensure financial systems and processes are in place to support the business activities
  • Develop, monitor, and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive efficiencies and value throughout the accounting function
  • Deliver high-quality service for internal customers, facilitating interdepartmental cooperation and teamwork
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business (with an emphasis in accounting or strong accounting background) is required
  • Total of at least eight years of accounting experience: Minimum of three years in a Big 4 public accounting firm with at least one public company client and a minimum of four years in industry (preferably a public company)
  • CPA (active or inactive) is required
  • Up to three days in Irvine office
  • Ability to establish credibility with Senior Management and the Board of Directors
  • Growth mindset and ability to think outside the box to drive continuous improvement
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including documentation of findings and recommendations

What You Can Expect
  • All compensation is commensurate with employee qualifications, experience, and other factors, including geographic location, market, and operational factors
  • Base Pay Range: $152,800 - $191,000 annually
  • Other compensation: Incentive Compensation
